The Local Economic Impacts of Wind Power Deployment in Denmark
Project Description
To promote low-carbon technologies, politicians often refer to the assumption that the use of such technologies has positive employment effects. However, there is little scientific evidence to support this view. Our aim is to empirically characterise the local economic impacts of wind power to shed light on the debate. Denmark is used as a case study given its long experience in this energy type. Our econometric analysis employs panel data from the Danish statistical office in combination with detailed information on wind turbines in operation.
Project duration: April 2019 – December 2020
