SEEK Workshop on European Public Finances Through the Financial Crisis at ZEW
On June 10-11, 2014, ZEW hosted the SEEK workshop “European Public Finances Through the Financial Crisis”, which was jointly organized with the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), London, and the Institut des politiques publiques (IPP), Paris.
The objective of the workshop was to provide an overview of how fiscal responses to the crisis varied across Europe. The event brought together country experts, who presented the macro and fiscal background in their country, provided an overview of fiscal responses to the crisis, and analyzed if the crisis has been an opportunity for reforms that improve the system of taxation and spending.
